About The Founder

I am born to my beloved mother, Gulabi a sacred soul, who passed prematurely at the age of 52 due to breast cancer. She brought me up with lot of difficulties, but nurtured and inculcated holistic human values in my life. “Gulabi” means “Rose” in English and she lived her life like that. I am ever grateful to her and remember her always in my every thought and action.

Mr. Raghunath Shetty, my father, was a teacher in the school in his younger days and later was working in a soap factory in Mumbai. He lost both his parents just few weeks after his birth, hence he had to face lot of hardship while he was growing up. While working, he had to do lot of hard work to maintain the family singlehandedly. However, he was transparent in his thought and action all throughout his life. Due to his involvement in the factory union, he had to leave the job prematurely at a young age, which put my family in deep trouble, almost on the street. He lived up to the age of 80 years. 

Shashikala, my eldest and the only sister died at the tender age of 15 years due to heart defect.

My brothers, Shashi, Subhash and Suresh started working and earning for the family at the age of 14 to 15 years, since father was jobless. Simultaneously, they completed their degree courses in Commerce, Arts and Law by attending night schools and colleges. My brother, Subhash was the sheet anchor of the family and was responsible for many of our achievements, in particular,  to me,  he was like a God-father  and  I love and respect him more than myself. I salute him from the bottom of my heart for his contribution to the family. Simultaneously, during this period I continued my studies in Municipal school & Municipal Medical College and achieved every possible degrees in Medical education, Nationally and Internationally. All this would not have been possible without the undying support and help from my brothers, family members, friends, well wishers and blessings of my Parents, Teachers, Elders and Almighty.

My wife and life, Geeta whom I married in 1982 was the ideal replacement to my mother’s place in my family. As said, behind every man’s success lies a woman, likewise my pillar of strength is my wife.

My two loving daughters, Sadita and Sandeeta are true to my values and beliefs. At present, both are doing their medical education.

I took up medical profession and continue to serve suffering human beings which is the most noble and ultimate service to God. I am teaching in a University Hospital, from the beginning of my career with an intention to give back to my profession and to preach the younger generation, the true human values of medical profession, in particular moral and ethical issues. Now, at this juncture of my life, when I look back with the nostalgic memories of my childhood and all the difficulties while growing up, I realize that I have been truly blessed with a wonderful family and secure home, comforts of life, career, success, prosperity, etc. I think now is the time to give something back to the society from all that God has bestowed on me. I strongly believe that Art of Living is Art of Giving.

This foundation is formed with a sentiment of doing something worthwhile for the small children in the areas of health and education, who are in utmost need of help and belong to the poorest and lowest socio-economic strata of the society. I have taken up this task as I consider that children are like God and are also our future and that they can be easily moulded at a very young age, and health and education are the best ways to do so, for their as well as the nation’s overall growth and progress.
